WITCH HUNTER vs WITCH ELF

 

The two rogue like classes on Warhammer Online : Return of Reckoning.  During my gaming time on this game there was always the question which on is “better”. Although i believe there is no better in any class since they are all designed to do different things and not everything. Never the less i reached a point that i wanted to know if there are any significant differences between the classes. Here are some the results after a bit of testing. Most of the testing is on base, meaning, no gear, no renown, no builds or talents. On the result i will inticate what we testing how.


So the first thing we are going to look at is the statistics and differences. No gear, no renonw, no carrier points.

From the above stats it seems that the WH get more armour penetrations and toughness as well as parry making him better to fight againg melee and possibly longer fight againe melle.

The WE seems that she gets more critical protection, dodge and disrupt values making her better in fighting casters and healers. Since Order has lot more ranged then melee.

Over all it seems from the base stats that both classes are equipt to fight the other realm according to what classes they play more.

Base Damage


Base damage, no gear, no renown, no weapons, no specializations. 10 auto attacks on target dammies. Target dummies have no armour, no ressistances.

It seems that WE has a hight DPS while WH has a higher average damage. This indicates that WH can output damage, possibly needed vs the heavy melee but also that this can be healed easier from healers. WE with a higher DPS value it seems that she can apply more burst and pressure which is needed vs Healers and caster due to the healing and massive damage usualy casters deal.

In this test we see the same DPS but WE has higher average damage than the WH which is not consistant with the result on the 10 auto attacks. This is a small damage difference. The question is why. Well the answer is simle. The game still hold some randomness making combat interesting. The actual reason on the 3 tests on each class that i perfomed is the criticals they get when attacking. In this tests WE got 1 less critical as can be seen in the tables below. This could have been easily on the WH side. I would like you to focus on the fact that even with this the damage & DPS of the two classes so far are very close.Critical damage is between 1.45-1.55 extra damage on your attack, so even with 1 less critical you can have more damage then other try or player.

Torment vs Agonizing Wounds


In this test i was looking at the 2 most used skills from both side with the similar bonuses and effects. igonor armour when behind target. Since the target dummies have no armoru the attackes were made from the front. Base damage, no gear, no renown, SC weapons, no specializations. 20 attacks on target dammies. Target dummies have no armour, no ressistances.

Still WE has more DPS with a slightly less Damage average over the WH.

The last tests i thought to do was some rotations using the similar skills on both classes to see if things change or not. Here are the results

Both had their DPS higher….but no change in he average damage with different skills. This indicates that the damage cap is there and that the different skills allow for different playstyle and or for different situtation in game like WB or solo or group fights, or for focusing on picking different classes as a rogue /assasin class. The Higher DPS values are becasue Dragon Gun and On your Knees are aoe skills and they hit more targets. The WH gets more because the target on order side are next to each other while on Destruction side the targets are really far apart.

 

Final Thoughts

Overall i have to say that i feel that these two classes between them are even. The are not 100% mirrored so there will be some things that might feel stronger on one side than the other. I feel that these clsses just specialise on different things while maintain the same damage output with 1-2% variation. The skill of the player, the gear and possibly the group will make a difference in the ingame experinece. Also i would like to remind you all that there will be classes that you will kill in 3 sec and classes that will kill you in 3 sec.. You just can’t kill them all…
